it all depends on the bike!..some xt600 are kick only,i have fitted elerctric starts to them in the past.but only because some xt600 were electric starts and the parts swap over[with a bit of work though]…there isnt a universal kit,it would be impossable to make one…your quids in if you know af a similar bike to your own with a electric start…not really a diy job mind…have a look at my stuff
Presuming your bike has no battery, and the engine isnt one that has an option to install a starter motor. Its more money than gain.
Your talking,
-modifying the engine, or replacing it.
-Adding a 12volt battery with enough crank amps to turn the starter. There are some choices of battery tho.
-a Solinoid, start button and kill switch(es)
-maybe replace the generator too…. add a rectifier to recharge the battery
that all depends on the make and model of your bike like Michael stated above… I know several people that have done conversions to XTs and XRs by merely finding the similar street bike engine or quad that has an electric start that can be adapted to the dirt bike version… takes time and money even going that route.
of course, if it’s something along the lines of a KTM SX, then the MXC & EXC models have elec. start that are easily added to the SX…
can you edit your question to list make & model including size of your bike…. that way I can possibly find out if there is an equivalent street bike or quad that has elec. start that could be converted to your bike.
